First, a little background.
Our son Michael, is nearing the end of a lease at the Chevrolet store on a 2006 Equinox. He has been very adamant about wanting an ALL WHEEL DRIVE vehicle as the replacement. This is a BIG DEAL in our family, as it will be the first self handled car purchase by our son.
His options include buying the Equinox, or any of the following that might be available in recent year models: A Honda CRV, a Toyota RAV, or a Subaru (two or three models looked at during past few days).
We have been in close touch with Rod and Grant on this issue, and we are now within a month of a decision for Michael's next car.
SO.............WHAT IS THE FAVOR?
At the Subaru store in Sandy, there is a young man working there by the name of RICHARD CASTILLO. He clearly knows that any purchase we make at the Subaru dealership will go thru Dean, Rod, or yourself.
Despite this situation, Richard has been a fantastic representative for Larry H. Miller. On more than one occasion, he has spent a good deal of time with Michael and I..............even on a winter day when it was below freezing.
He is courteous, helpful, and a gentleman in every way possible. He remembers us when we return for the latest walk thru of possible replacement cars, he willingly runs back to the office for keys of automobiles we come across to inspect, he is well informed on all models of Subaru, and a real pleasure to deal with when at the store.
He is aware that we have been responsible for at least 126 car purchases from Larry H. Miller, and treats us with respect, in fact calling me Mr. Gray, a real departure from two other Miller employees, who announce over the loud speakers that we need to leave the building immediately.
I know times are tough in the automobile business right now. However, is there a way for you (or even Larry himself) to give some recognition to this young man? He is deserving of praise and compliments, and as a former executive of a major company, I am well aware of what positive reinforcement can do to an employees attitude.
Too often we base performance on the bottom line of DOLLARS. What also needs to be considered is this: sales people like Richard are not forgotten by people who request and demand good service, and dividends may not come for weeks or months down the road. Please give Richard the recognition he deserves.

I went to the Subaru in Sandy to go with my nephew to make an oil change appointment and he mentioned to go and look for a car similar to my Lexus RX 350. We went upstairs and right away Richard Costello approached my nephew as a person he knew, very friendly and not pushy. I told him I was just looking and did not know you had a car similar to my Lexus in size. Richard treated me with attention and respect and took all my ribbing and joking. I left and went to shop Acura / MDX and we sat in their car, in the show room on State street for over 10 minutes and no one approached me, maybe because I'm a female, my nephew drove me their in his Subaru impreza, or maybe because I was dressed in my jeans. What ever the case I was so offended, we left. I really was set on buying the MDX. We went back to the Subaru dealer and long story short, Richard made the deal, treated my nephew as an adult, paid attention to my questions and showed a lot of integrity and honesty. Thanks for a nice experience. I buy a lot of cars, and I know what the experience can be like.

 I would like to commend Thomas Fortune and Tressa Dodge for their efforts over and above the norm to insure my complete satisfaction this weekend.  I was buying a car for my 16 year old daughter and had to have it within a few days.  She picked out the perfect car, (Dark gray metallic Subaru Impreza), but the only one available was located in Denver.  Thomas actually flew to Denver, (as to truck it in would have taken too long), and drove it back to Sandy to meet our deadline.  I was not accustomed to that level of commitment to the needs of their potential clients, as it truly epitomized the dedication to excellence in customer satisfaction of the LHM team.
Tressa also was a key reason we chose to purchase from this dealership as she took the pain-staking process of selecting the various options and styles presented us with a beautifully tailored vehicle suited perfectly for our daughter.  She also kept me in the loop throughout the entire process calling with updates every other hour so I wouldn’t have any surprises or regrets.  If your post-sales and service and support efforts are as attentive and meticulous as the pre-sales efforts, we will be well taken care of and become loyal fans of the LHM methods of doing business.  Both Thomas and Tressa were so accommodating, helpful and friendly, that it was an easy decision to buy from Larry H. Miller Subaru.  I feel we were taken care of and given the best price possible, that shopping around for something better was a waste of time.  There was no pressure or haggling, just here are the features and benefits and my first price was the best price.  I really liked the “let’s cut to the chase and get this car secured for your family” focus, as that made our time, concerns and our business seemed valued.
 
On the financial end Ben Maxwell found the best rate and loan for our needs and made the paperwork end of things concise and efficient.  I have never had such a great experience in buying a car and I have owned many prestigious vehicles over the years.  Although I may have feet like I was the “most important customer” that day, I have a feeling that level of commitment to the customer is routine with this team.
